The Rap Map

The very cool people over at Rap Genius, the task force behind interpreting hip hop’s lyrical content, went above-and-beyond recently with their interactive Google Map which provides pin/gun-points for geographical-based lines in popular rap songs. We were a little disappointed NorCal didn’t have quite as many as say, NYC or South Central… but maybe we should consider it a good thing. Either way, check out the map and click around for some good ol’ fashioned hip hop lyrical education.

Tip #16: Tweet It Out!

At this point, odds are that your music collection is immaculate, which leaves you with little to do other than to simply listen and enjoy your music. As we here at TuneUp Media can attest to, music is much better when shared with friends, and since we live in the 21st century and Twitter is the default means for 140-character interpersonal contact, TuneUp has included the “Tweet” feature, so you can show off your music to your friends.

To use the “Tweet Manually” feature, you simply go to the Tuniverse tab in TuneUp, and sign-in where it says “Tweet Manually.” Next, you click the “Tweet” button, and voila, the song you’re listening to is automatically Tweeted on your Twitter account.

To show off your impeccable music taste and collection even further, you can click, “Switch to Auto…” which will tweet every song you play in iTunes automatically, so your friends can experience the full breadth of your musical knowledge, even if they never wanted to.
