Welcome
Dearest TuneUp Blog Readers
This is officially the first post on the TuneUp blog. If you’ve gotten this far, it’s likely you:
a. Are my mom.
b. Read about us online.
c. Heard about us through a friend or
d. Googled “clean up my music” (or something like that)
In any case, welcome. My name is Gabe Adiv and I am the founder of TuneUp and I’m really psyched you found us. The reason that we built the TuneUp Companion is because we, like you, are HUGE music fans and over the years, amassed HUGE music collections. Problem is, they’re a total mess and they take a fricking ridiculous amount of time and energy to clean up. We tried some of the stuff that was out there and it was really hard to use. As such, it was our goal to create something that would do the dirty work for you.
Beyond that, we realized that there is all sorts of other really cool stuff we can do for you based on your collection. We find your cover art, we let you know when your favorite bands are coming to town and we provide you with some of the best content on the world wide web. All based on what you like and listen to.
Over the past 12 months our team has been working really hard and we’re pretty proud of what we’ve created. A bunch of you have already been testing it and we feel like it’s now ready for prime-time.
We’re going to use this blog to let you know about cool new features, cool bands, the TuneUp team and other such things we think you’ll find interesting. Feel free to share your thoughts with us at “blog @ tuneupmedia dot com” or go ahead and leave your comments.
In the meantime, here’s a video of budding rock star, Kamran, rocking out at TuneUp headquarters. Total Rock n’ Roll stream of consciousness.
Lyrics
Tell your mama you better work hard
you dont wanna go home because its rock n roll time.
So get up you big baby and get back,
because do you know what that means?
Yeah, it means rock n roll! OK?!?
When you gotta go to the toilet, you miss the rock n roll show.
But if you notice there’s a butt crack (next words are hard to hear) than it can watch the show too!

Your software doesn’t to recognize canadian city in it’s installation process. So it makes it difficult for us up north to be canadian. Nice touch that the installation program did recognie that my op system is french.

It would be handy if on the front page or somewhere obvious you put an email address for us Mac users where we could sign up and be alerted when you produce a Mac version. If you do one could I be subscriber #1?

What a great idea and I love the concert feature. Unfortunately I am on a Mac so I hope to try the Mac version when you get it ready to go.

iTunes has needed these features for a long time. Musicmatch Jukebox had them and even charged a premium for an upgraded version of this called “SuperTagging”.rnrnThis isn’t the most original idea, but it serves a purpose for people who have a lot of improperly tagged music. For people who rip and buy music with iTunes however, Tuneup will serve very little purpose.

I haven’t tried this out yet (great idea), but can it scan a harddrive and determine whether or not you’ve added all your music to iTunes? My iTunes library size is different from my hard drive music library size and it’s bugging the heck out of me.
