Day 23: “Welcome to the Mustache California”

Seems like Mustache Fever is really starting to catch on. Check out The Huffington Post’s The Year Of The Mustache. We’re personal fans of the Turnerstache, that low-riding beauty:

With a little more than two weeks of growing left, the race for the top pushes on. Thanks to our latest donors, Stacey, Stephen, Alison, Doug and Emerald who have helped bring TuneUp to more than $4,000 raised.

Meet today’s Mustache of the Day:

Name: David “NoBeard” Swift

Typical facial hair routine? A paste of 3:3:6 fertilizer and water in the morning, and a trim of split ends with a sharpened HDD platter in the evening.

Last time you grew a mustache and why? I have not shaved my beard off in eight years. Been busy.

Follicle type/texture? #24 copper, stranded.

Best thing about growing a mustache? Um, I don’t recognize myself in the mirror, makes the mornings easier, as I have someone new to talk to.

Iconic Mustache of Choice? Midge Ure.

If your mustache was a musical instrument, what would it be? An 88-string guitar.

Favorite hair growing music? Jesu, The Joy of Man’s Desiring.

What’s your mustache’s favorite fighting move? The Corner Stab.

Any upper-lip tips? It’s been so long since I’ve seen my upper lip, I’m kinda lost. I think it has gone vestigial, like an appendix.

Write a mustache haiku:
Beard gone, youth spent so
Styptic pain as stimulant
Birth School Grow Work Death
