Sonos Playlist

Even though everyone in the office has their own pair of swanky headphones – sometimes it’s nice to jam out with colleagues, which is why we have Sonos here at TuneUp. That way, everyone can be tortured / blessed with each other’s personal musical playlist. In the spirit of this comradery we (in no official way) assembled this list …
Top 10 tracks most played in the TuneUp Headquarters:
The National - “Apartment Story”. This band gets played all the time. Mostly morning music, but sounds good at almost any point in the day. We love this band.
MGMT – “Kids”. Somehow this song is still good no matter how many times it gets into rotation. You would have thought that after a year we’d all be over it… but nope.
M.I.A. – “Paper Planes”. Even though there are a couple ‘haters’ (*ahem, Isaac), it’s always a good head-bobber. She’s a firecracker and is good motivation for coding tasks
“Tarzan Yell”. Yup, you read that right: the sound made by a man swinging through trees. While only 3 seconds long, it gets played at random intervals of silence and jolts everyone awake…. not like anyone was asleep though - you know what we mean.
Flower Travellin’ Band – “Satori Pt. 1”. This is the end-of-the-day-let’s-party-hard track… makes you want to punch something and clock out!
Metric – “Stadium Love”. The new album is great and always in rotation. Although it might be slightly over-played at this point.
Journey- “Don’t Stop Believing”. Somehow this became the designated TuneUp theme song. Seriously, this track gets played at LEAST once a week. Multiple versions, but there’s only one Journey - with or without cowbell!
Biz Markie – “Just a Friend”. Biz is a friend of TuneUp (see our launch party photos) so we love pumping this song good & loud midday.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs – “Heads Will Roll”. The HQ consensus is divided on them, but we like playing it anyway, even for the haters! Go Karen O!
Empire of the Sun – “Walking on a Dream”. Great piece of dream pop to blast in the office for new releases and big version pushes.
We have an extremely diverse crew here, which means the Sonos is always blasting out some very … umm… interesting music. So next time you’re at work, feel free to check out these tunes and feel like the TuneUp HQ. Just be sure you clear it with your co-workers. Or get some headphones.
