Tip #12: Playlists & Music Analytics (More Fun Than it Sounds!)

We get comments from users all the time who are surprised by how messy their library is and frequently complain that keeping track of the Cleaning changes made to your library can be confusing, which is when we direct them to our “Analyze” and “Create Playlists” features.

To begin, go to your Preferences and make sure “Create Playlists” is selected under the Clean menu. Then, after you’ve saved your Preferences, click on the Analyze option (the small brain on the top-right corner). This feature will comb through your whole library and examine what exactly is in need of some Cleaning-love in your collection.

Once TuneUp is done analyzing your music, and the cool messy-chart is displayed for you to gasp at, all of the songs that have missing information will be conveniently added to a “Dirty” playlist. Now all you need to do is click “Return to Clean” and drag the tracks from the “Dirty” playlist into TuneUp’s Clean tab to fix their messed up information. As the tracks get filled in with their correct information, TuneUp creates a “Cleaned” playlist. Now you can keep track of which songs TuneUp has changed, which need to be fixed, and what tracks could not be found. It’s a great way to stay organized and be on-top of just what’s happening in your music collection! See… told you it’s fun ;)
