We got really into this jam by the French trio Hey Hey My My. Once we decided to check them out entirely (becuase honestly, once you hear the below track you’re going to keep wanting more), there was so little blog-o-sphere hullabaloo about them we figured the least we could do is make our own buzz for them. They began as a duo making mostly folk songs
They have an awesome series of album art that would look sweet in anyone’s cover flow:
They’re French. Oh wait – we mentioned that. But it’s kinda shocking since all their lyrics are in English. Then again, that have that soft tumble on their “R”s that makes for fun listening.
For the music junkies, yes; their namesake came from the Neil Young song – specifically the line “Hey Hey my my / Rock n’ roll will never die”.
Most recently, they released A Sudden Change of Mood on April 26th 2010 and is categorized under the genre of “Rock” – although we’d classify it more as “Indie Soul Pop” (Okay, so maybe not that exact genre… but you get it).
If you enjoy bands like Wolf Parade, mixed with a lot of Ringside, and a dash of folk-pop sprinkled in for good measure, then we’re pretty sure Hey Hey My My will be on your heavy rotation. From everyone here at TuneUp – we hope you enjoy your weekend. Keep the tunes jamming!
