New Music: Ra Ra Riot

Ra Ra Riot “Keep It Quiet” (Preview) from Barsuk Records on Vimeo

Ooooooooh purdy....

Ooooooooh purdy....

We got our hands on this sweet EP by Ra Ra Riot. After a Bon Iver-style hiatus, surrounded by a peach orchard, this upstate NY band released the teaser for their forthcoming full length “The Orchard” (get it!) come October 2010. This video for the track, “Keep it Quiet (Bears)” is topping our playlist this week. Something about the vocals reminds us of a lost Arthur Russell song. Plus, how awesome is that organ? It’s been 2 years since their very first album (“Rhumb Line”) and if the new stuff sounds as lovely as this then it looks like Ra Ra Riot might have a sophomore hit on their hands.
