Some users are expressing frustration with the TuneUp V1.5.10+ installers which attempt to upgrade the Microsoft Visual C++ runtime to patch some security holes. Note that this MS upgrade takes a while to install...so, when you try to install, please be patient and see if it eventually finishes.
If you're sure it's definitely stopped and not going anywhere, you can run the TuneUp installer telling it not to install the MS runtime by adding a "/novc" switch. Follow these steps: 1. Click "Start" button 2. Click "Run..." 3. Click "Browse..." 4. Navigate to the TuneUp installer (TuneUpInst-1.5.10.exe) 5.Click OK 6. Add the /novc switch by typing "/novc" Should look like this: ![]() 7. Click OK This should start the installer and skip the installation of the new Microsoft runtime |
