Not sure if there is a way around this now given the early stages of the app, but I am working behind a corporate proxy server. I am assuming this is the reason that Tune-Up cannot connect. I see that all the menu options are greyed out...is this because the product is still so young? I wonder if perhaps the preferences menu might have an option to configure proxy settings...this would be a great help. Any advice?

TuneUp currently doesn't work behind a corporate proxy. We wrongly assumed that everyone would be using our application at home.
An upcoming version of TuneUp will have a preference to work through a proxy. -via the Problems with Corporate Proxies thread Please check there for future updates

We definitely have no proxy in our office, but had to unblock a few ports before to get certain applications to work. Which port does Tuneup use to communicate with its servers ?

This thread was last updated almost 12 months ago, and still no proxy support!! Wow... So, while I wait for the product to mature sufficiently to become a little useful, would it be possible to provide more info on what TuneUp actually connects TO (and the ports) so we don't have to open our networks up completely?
I'd like to highlight that the "proxies are only in corporates" stance is pretty lame - I use a proxy at home to add another layer of logging and security, since I don't like the fact that both Windows and Mac are a bit too "talky" with all the calling home that goes on.The only options for me are as follows: - TuneUp provides proxy support; or - TuneUp provides me with a complete list of destination IP addresses (or DNS names) of all the targets that the software tries to connect to (and the ports) so I can open these specific hosts up through my firewall; or - TuneUp provides me with a refund, and I'll revisit the product when I can be convinced it has sufficiently matured. I look forward to your response (and half expect not to get one!) Jeff |

Why? Seems like you are limiting your product for something that seems rather trivial to implement. Do you have a wishlist /feature request list?
