Lightbulb complete os re-install

Hello!

Due to known Windows XP performance problems, when running the os for a while, I make ever 2-3 month a complete, blank re-install of the os (on the same machine). Is this without activation possible, or must I do a re-activiation? Is the activation stored on partition or bootsector etc.? Because I ususally format my C-Partition.

If this is possible, I will buy an account, otherwise not

Thank you for answering.

I can't say for sure as we haven't tested any backup programs. You may have to re-enter your activation code when you restore...you should be able to re-activate as many times as you want on the same computer.
